Thinking about selling my smokeless rifles and switching totally to my Shiloh .45 2 1/10 for all my big game hunting. I am also thinking that I should also get rid of my suppressed 10/22 and buy a .22 liner for small game and practice. Which liner is best? My barrel is 24 inches. How much do you have to change the sights? I will be using the barrel sights for hunting with the .45 but still have the tang mount in place so can I regulate the vernier sight for the .22 liner?
Might need to find a nice Damascus barrelled double gun to use for duck and dove. I still have a box or two of brass 12 gauge shells laying around.

I'm not a fan of the .22 liners in .45s. But I haven't owned one. Just looked them over. Crossno's seems to be the best of the two available.
If you decide that Damascus double should be an english 10 bore hammer gun. I know of one that's for sale (with brass, wads).
Just pm (I don't have much internet connectivity until Thursday though.

The 45 2 1/10 for all of your big game hunting is doable and a good plan, really. With the right load, you can hunt anything on the planet. When I want to fire for effect, I reach for my 45-70.
I think I would keep the 10/22 as is. That is a handy rig in its own way. I wasn't aware hat your Shiloh had a 24 inch barrel.

I think my tastes are far too eclectic to only limit myself to one pattern of firearm. The last two rifles I bought were a NPM M1 carbine, and a 1907 .351 winchester.
That said, I did bid (unsuccessfully) on an original Sharps last week, and I'm still eagerly awaiting my Shiloh.

I wouldn't worry about selling the other guns, they'll stay in the safe and won't complain about the Sharps always getting to go. Those Crosno liners work quite well, I have one for the 40-65,45-70 and 44-77.
the most expensive bullet there is isn't worth a plug nickel if it don't go where its supposed to. www.historicshooting.com
