Any one use a device to boost their cell phone reception?
We live in a rural area and the cell phone reception at the house is not good we are on the Sprint network.

Does anyone use any type of cell phone booster?

We have been told that a device called Airave helps it takes the signal and routs it through your computer.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks Mike

I had one in my work truck. It gave me coverage almost anywhere in Wyoming and Montana. Huge boost in call ability.
Cost about $700 ten years ago.

We use the Verizon network extender. Cost $250.00, but our signal in the house went from 0 or 2 bars at most, to a full 5 bars all the time. It ties into your computer signal, and picks up a GPS signal also.
Works great for us...

Just conference-call with the NSA next time and ask them to boost the wattage on your call so that everybody can hear the whole conversation laugh

Sorry, couldn't resist laugh

I use the same as BGUNN. We put steel siding on the house and marginal service went to no service.

Since the install we have had no problems. I recommend it.

My wife bought one for use in her studio over in Rodeo before they had cell phone service. She sold it to a friend who lives way up Cave Creek Canyon above Portal, Arizona. He went from no service to good service.

The company I work for provides me with the Verizon Network Extender. It works great at the house. We have zero signal without it, have full signal with it, anywhere inside the house, and I can go out to the barn and within about 40 yards of the house keep somewhat of a signal.

Our corporate IS team told me our internet modem has to be through a hardwire (DSL, cable, etc). That if you have a wireless internet provider, it won't work.

I use a Wilson booster.

Without it, I have NO bars of service in the house, and maybe one bar outside,....sometimes.

With it, I have full bars of service in the house, and my cell works, and I use my hotspot for highspeed internet. It all works very well. Without it, I am not sure what I would do for cell or internet. No high speed internet avl. here...

About $300 at BestBuy. Or cheaper some places.

I also use a Wilson booster, at my camp. 1 or 2 bars and no possibility of internet access without it, 5 bars and 3G service with it.

What antenna do you guys use with your Wilson boosters? The one with the little can at the bottom, or the one with the spring-looking coil? I had the one with the little can at the base and the mast itself was loose in it, and not only didn't the antenna work, it rattled so loud it sounded like the whole truck was rattling...probably because it is on the roof.

We have sprint service and our house is in a dead spot. We threatend to quit sprint and they sent us an extender free of charge that works off the internet connection. It supplies good service in the house but very sketchy outside.
