...My biggest reservation has and continues to be the number of animals I see wounded and not recovered.... GWB
... I know gun hunters also wound and don't recover occasionally BUT IMObervations the % is higher than archers. Ditto that. My hunting buddy has, to my knowledge, never lost an animal he shot with a rifle. Most Ive watched went straight down with the notable exception of a cow elk he neck shot she made it 120-150 yards. By contrast, he has poked several deer with an arrow and not recovered any of them.

Bow hunting, or archery in general, is a damn disease worse than any rifle affliction.
Broadheads, sights, rests, releases, shafts, feathers/vanes in whatever shape......
Then the fuggin bow seems outdated by the time you get your string broke in!
You go to sell a three year old bow and its worth a third of what ya paid for it.
Hell, just thinking about it, my wallets starting to squeal.
Unless you go trad........
Have fun Lt!

I don't get caught up in that "newest and best" archery thing. My Hoyt is probably 5 years old and I use Muzzy broadheads. Kills them quick if I take my time. When I was younger I wounded a few deer. One really made me sick. I shot to far and it hit a buck right above the knee on a front leg. Cut it clean off and deer limped away. Man I felt sick after that. Thought about quitting. I was 17 probably. I know when to shoot and when not to now. Sure do see alot of deer during bow season

Committing myself to bowhunting...they're in the classifieds. I will take the gold plated, ivory handled, Jimenez 25acp with "bad mutherphuker" scrolled on it.

I love bowhunting. Although, when I can start throwing "HOT LED" I put those sticks down.
