I have been going to Wyoming for a number of years to fish and hunt. I have a goat tag doe/fawn year.
I will take my dogs and hunt sage chickens before I start hunting goats.
I have always hunted west of the divide. This year I would like to try chickens in one of these three areas; Lander, Casper or Rawlins. Which area would be best?
How is the chicken hunting along the Plate?

Much of the very best chicken hunting along the Platte is on private land..or the BLM land is locked off by private sections..I know Rawlins has a ton of public ground..Never hunted chickens near Lander.. Check the regs..some of the state is closed to all chicken hunting..

Plenty of sage grouse in southern Bates Hole/northern Shirley Basin the past few years, southwest of Casper. I used to hunt west of Bairoil, but haven't been there recently enough to know whether it is any good now.
