No animals were harmed in the making of this video.

But seriously... Good for him. He looks like he had some training.

He got that gun out in a hurry (unless he already had it out).

Damn sure wasn't in an IWB holster with him sitting in the car.

I have seen the video posted before (with more info).

I am pretty sure that it was taken in Venezuela.

Yep, I received the same link for a Facebook page in Venezuela. I have some friends from Venezuela and violent crime is rampant there. I believe both criminals were apprehended and 1 ended up permanently out of circulation. Stuff in Peru is bad, but not as bad, though there are restriction for 9x19 and above... and now they want to forbid it totally. Lining up with Chavez/marxism ideals.

In some states in the US the man would have been tried for murder with the 2nd shot fired. the crook was retreating and fleeing and was shot in the back looks like a rear head shot but I may be wrong. we have some really messed up laws in some of our states.

True, while in reality he's a continued threat to your life (after first becoming a threat) so long as you reasonably believe he might still be carrying a gun within line of sight from your position.

I agree, though one could argue that he is retreating to take cover and return fire. The 2nd carjacker is seeing fleeing the scene in the back as soon as shots are fired. I believe the second shot impacted the left side.

I would not call that a retreat,he was heading for cover behind the car to return fire....that's my story.
He still wanted that car(he had to pick his buddy up) and he still clearly had his gun and is a threat....

That is the key here to me. He didn't drop the gun and surrender. It is a fluid situation until the bad guy ceases to be a threat.

Movements made during the gun battle are just that. Was he running away, or running to a position he could defend and continue the fight? As long as he holds the gun, he can fire at any time, and in any direction, which may not be the direction he is traveling.

He was clearly a threat from the time he drew the firearm until it was kicked away from his body. Even then, it was wise to keep him covered until help arrived.

Good job "victim". Way to be alert and prepared!!

I won't ever understand why some people choose a profession where it's legal to kill you. If you're going to do that, might as well join the US Military. At least those that have your back will be much more reliable!
