To all you very knowledgeable people I would like to ask is a one or two piece scope mount better on a 99E and why. Thanks

I prefer the two piece Weavers because they don't interfere with loading and unloading and they don't leave the front of the mount hanging out beyond the receiver over the barrel. IMO the best of the Weavers are the swing overs as in the rare occasion that when you bring the rifle up and look through the scope something is very wrong you can just swing the scope over to the left and use your irons. The scope returns to zero just fine when swung over and then back.

This^

Especially important when wearing gloves or putting on drives and you have to load/unload a lot.

I had a set of basic Weaver rings on my 99 for years until the scope went TU right before deer season last fall. I swapped scopes and used a set of Burris Signature Zee rings I had on hand. Seems to be working just fine.

BTW, mine's a 358, I couldn't keep the Leupold STD rings tight on the rear base, I finally threw them away and went with the Weavers.

Only ever wear knitted open finger gloves when doing drives. The tips of your fingers are open but the rest of the glove keeps them warm. Prefer the ones that have the little rubber gripper dots on the palms.
