Actually, it's not urban camo. The fading light gives it a little blue hue. It's really a black, medium gray, and dark gray camo.

The barrel's a 26" Krieger eight twist MTU contour weighing in at 6 pounds, 9 1/2 ounces finished.

Thanks....

The stock's a McM Winchester Marksman pattern. My favorite for a plinkin' playin', prairie dog killin' stock.

I happen to have more than one...... grin

Gotcha. Almost looks like a Classic and an A5 made a baby.

Kinda....fat baby maybe.....

The A-5 stole the forend design off the Marksman, and the butt is quite a bit larger as well. The height is the same but the Markman's width is 1.910" compared to the 1.625" of the A-5, and the grip is larger too, 1.625" vs 1.325". Being a fuller stock through the butt, it handles recoil quite well.

I don't care for the square edges of the A-5 either, as they start digging in my hand where I hold under the magazine, and the edge for cheek weld isn't as nice to me as the rounded butt of the Marksman.

If I build another heavy rig someday I might try one. My stock of choice for heavier rigs has been the A3.

I like things about the A5, but I'm not a fan of the butthook.

Also, this ain't your run-of-the-mill 700....

The action is from an original 40-XB KS Custom Varmint Rifle 22-250 I ordered new back in the 80's. It's a single shot with the original Remington 2 ounce trigger. It's had several stocks, and a handful of barrels since new, but hopefully, this should be the last stock. But just in case, I ordered it cut for a magazine and a BDL inlet, with sniper fill, as weight was not a concern, and pillars.

The action was trued and lapped several years ago by Dan Dowling, I had the bolt nose bushed, the firing pin turned to match, the bolt knob installed, and the bolt handle screwed, all done by Gre-Tan. The action was Ceracoated by Eddie, and the bolt fluted by Karl.

The scope base is a 40 MOA from Nightforce, as is the 5.5-22x50 NXS. I'm exactly 20 MOA off the bottom of my scope, leaving me the better part of 80 on the topside.
