listening to Dennis Miller a while back on the radio and he was interviewing......somebody???? forget who, that was from Sacramento or spent time there or someplace in CA
tells a story that after the breakup of LR and JB, JB was in this little club and while he was there this other guy played "you're no good" by LR 58 times in a row
said JB pretended like he didn't notice, but they figured he had a clue around the 19th repetition or so.
I'm pretty certain when we sing our anthem and mention the land of the free, the original intent didn't mean cell phones, food stamps and birth control.

Regardless of her ancestry and heritage, Linda Ronstadt was born in the USA, Tucson, I believe. That makes her an American, not Mexican. Her family was well established in that area, not recent immigrants. Most of her songs and albums are in English, except for Canciones de mi Padre and Mas Canciones, both of which are excellent renditions of traditional songs in Spanish.
She does have a heckuva voice, fantastic range.

I recently heard the Ronstadt Generations, a band made up of her relatives. The family is German, but has lived in the border country of southern Arizona for a long time. They are totally bi-cultural. Linda's best singing has been in Spanish with the Mexican National Symphony.

The only female vocalists I enjoy are Susan Tedeschi with Dereck Trucks and Joan Armatrading. Most others are hard on the ears and/or head.
