I think it's time for a cabin weekend, camp shickinbuck.

I could see spending a bunch of weekends out there between now and fall time. The blueberries will be very good this year. All the berries will be, especially choke cherries, wow.

Bill, glad to hear the kids made it home and the storms missed you.

Hey everybody, little "runs with scissors" got his drivers license yesterday.

He's not little anymore though, I think he might be taller than me now lol!

He's driving the 77 F250 4x4 the kids named "black betty"

Congrats RWS. Won't be long and Preacher Joe will be driving. eek

Received an email from my wife's cousin. She says their Black Raspberries will be ready in another week. Love Black Raspberries. Going to be a bumper crop of Red Raspberries too. They make both Black and Red flavored Brandy from the berries and we have to sample last years efferts.

Only 2 weeks until Deer Fest down in Oshkosh. Man this year is flying.

You know it's getting late in the year when you have to send in for your doe license.

I'm in of the preferance points. I went in for West River deer and Black Hills deer. So hopefully that will be enough for a fall of 2014 draw on one of the two?

Not yet. They ordered the parts. At least the only damage that was done is what we could see. The radiator is fine.

This weekend I won't be able to go up there. I just found out that there is a party and I have to go.

Hope all had a good 4th. Been swamped up north here. Daughter played B-ball at target center last weekend in a great 8 4-state tournament for 8th graders. The won the whole tournament. what a fun experience for the kids to play on main court. Dave, hope all is going well. I have yet to get the boat in the water yet either. frown going to have to start fishing in the evenings i think. Was hoping you were at chickenbuck last friday, we drove through the woods. dont think you were there though. anyone need a ranger, got one for sale.

we'll be out there soon buschy, no this weekend but probably the following. It's possible I could make a day trip out there this weekend but it would only be to haul some stuff out there to get it off the home property as we prepare to list our house.

We started on the garage roof at 6:00 this morning. Had it stripped and new felt paper down by 8:45. God, does my neighbor fly. Said he did his first roof when he was 13.

Shingles will be delivered around 3:00 PM. Not looking forward to lugging them around at nearly 90 pounds a bundle. My back hurts already.

knew a guy that modified an old belt style hay bale elevator for bringing shingle bundles up onto roof tops. Some of you farmers know what I'm talking about, basically a very long conveyor belt/ramp for loading the old small square bales into hay lofts in the upper levels of barns.

It worked great for shingles, way better than throwing a bundle over your shoulder and heading up the ladder.

Building supply just deliverd the shingles. They used a conveyor to put them up on the roof. We had to grab them as they came off and place them around the roof.

Going to hold off until around 5:30 to begin shingling to let it cool down. Will shingle till dark.

Beautiful here in Duluth. An unheard of 85*. grin

I got the roof of the 78 ford DA'd with 120, filled a few small dents, and then hit it with 220grit. Sand it again tomorrow and get it ready for primer on Sunday with the rest of the truck.
