We pulled this out of a family members closet, has not been shot in maybe 40 years? Only the Remington name is on it, the local gun shop guy called it a Nylon 66, and it was missing the clip.

The most commonly available mags are labeled for the Nylon 77. Midway has some in stock, but they are getting poor reviews- the molded seams separate too easily. If not mistaken, the same mags for the 581/541 will work. These are not marked but they are the same as the 66/77 mags. I have had good luck with the 581/5shot mags in my bolt action. None have broken so far.

He would be better off going to Remington and actually buying a real clip for a rifle instead. It is a Model 77 instead of the model 66 though.

Sorry guys I just get tired of all the know it alls trying to make some folks look bad for calling a magazine a clip. We all know exactly what the man was asking about in his OP. Marlin and Remington as well as a few others label there packages as clips..... it really doesn't matter to me I call them magazines but clips will do if that is what someone else calls it.

This is the only "real clip" that exists for a rifle: http://www.amazon.com/Garand-Shot-Clips-Govt-Contractor/dp/B00657BY6G

Other rifles are either magazine-fed or single shot.

Go waste your breath telling Marlin and Remington that they label there parts as clips on some packages. I wont waste my time with you on this it's not worth it.

"There" or "their?" I don't think you know which end is up, especially if you keep using catch-me-f*ck-me metrosexual terminology.
