Thanks for sharing your experience Gordon!
I should mention to readers of this forum that Gordon did some excellent shooting on this trip. Couldn't have asked for better shot placement on any of his animals.
That .450NE of his shoots like a dream and is beautifully made (did I mention it is for sale too?) The 480gr Hornady soft shattered the heart and did not break up (as some have complained they tend to do). Even though Gordon did put some insurance shots into the buff - just to be safe - they weren't necessary and the buff only went 10 yards before he was too sick to continue.
His Kudu was right on top of a mountain and the .300 did the trick with a difficult shot at 250 yards +. It barely ran 40 yards and when we'd made our way to him he was stone cold dead. (Helluva a job to recover that bull I should add)
