today was the first day of my vacation. first week off since I started this job a lil over 2 years ago. whew I'm glad to have it! had to have a procedure done today, so I'm recouping with xbox and frozen peas, should be fine tomorrow. some of you may have had the same thing, so now I'm in the club. my best friend from college is coming for the week and I'm very happy to have some days of enjoyment with his family and mine. maybe some pics to come later. have a great week everyone!

Um, Ryan, I think I can speak for everyone in that you can take a pass on the pics. laugh

On a serious note, good to hear your grandfather is doing better. Hope your frozen giblets feel the same.

Finally decided to check this thread out, since it has always been comfortably at the top of the most viewed threads list, and wow! What an amazing thread! Funny how I can remember where I was on mot of the events that happened. Since this thread started I have been to Iraq for my second tour, Afghanistan, and am now reading this thread while in Qatar. Awesome to see a thread here on the Campfire that there is no name calling ('cept in fun!), nothing vulgar, and just good people sharing their lives. Definitely reminds me of my memories of growing up at our Deer camp, my grandparents ranch in Northern California.

(BTW took me about 3 weeks to get through this whole thread!)

welcome wahunterinrok! If you are gonna stick around and pull up a hypothetical chair to the fire, you gotta get a shorter handle!

Ryan, I about laughted out loud at the picture comment. My advice, DONT overdue it and watch out going down stairs. Enjoy the time off and save some for hunting season!

I'm taking it very easy this week, not too bad really. my friend has a daughter who is a month older than our little sylvia, so those two have met for the first time. so cute to see them together, enjoying the downtime for sure!

It's not too bad Ryan. Mine was easy as far as recovery. I guy I worked with had a rough go of it though. your timing was way off though. You need to do it during football playoff season or NCAA March Madness. grin

Welcome, wahaby! Thanks for your service. When you get back stateside, if you find yourself in Minnesota for any reason, you've got stop to make. Porch light's always on, and the coffee's not far behind.
