If I recall correctly, the old Vikings coach, Bud Grant played CFL ball.

I want to say Bud Grant also coached the Winnipeg team for a while.

Just a option, I think Grant used some of the CFL style of play with the Vikings.

I think he did too. The Vikings had some great teams to never won a Super Bowl.

As I admitted previously I'm not really a huge fan, but the owners of the cabinet shop where I work are in Calgary and are really, really big fans - one has the Stampeders logo on the gas tank of his Harley - he had Orange County Choppers do it too.

Anyway, one of them was telling me they were at a Grey Cup - can't recall which one, sorry - and there was more Green and White in the stands than any other color.

That would have made more sense if Saskatchewan had been playing, but of course they were not....

They say Saskatchewan has the "best" fans, but then again they might just mean we're all "special".

Yes it appears that we are indeed sir.

My good wife and I were up before 7:00am staining the deck in an effort to beat the heat and sun.

It appears for all intents and purposes that our plan was a good one as we're all cleaned up now - though it's hardly breaking 90� out today so it's the coolest day we've had in awhile.

The girls are in town today, one working and the other seeing some buddies in from the Lower Mainland, so my wife and I are kicking back for a bit waiting for the cedar to dry enough so we can move all the patio furniture back.

How do you rate the CFL to NHL fans?

As a Canuck and a current non-fan of either at present I don't really feel qualified to comment on your question.

Hopefully someone else with knowledge of both leagues and fans can add something intelligent - sadly yet again I find that I cannot..

It might be of interest to some here that I work with a few moderately rabid NFL fans - so there do exist Canucks who follow the NFL quite closely. I felt I should add that vital bit of information in an attempt to save whatever face I might be able to at this juncture.

That statistic may well be correct sir, I'll not argue it with you at this point anyway.

The argument may arise however, between the factions that believe I'd be in the top 3% and those who'd believe I'm in the bottom.

Agreed. Lulay has the things you need for a CFL quarterback: smarts, guts, good feet and legs, and a good arm.

If you really want to see Saskatchewan sports fans go nut put a NHL team in Saskatoon.

I guess you guys kind of missed on that one.
