The same reason most manufacturers discontinue products: Not enough people bought 'em.

So often customers dont realize THEY drive corporate decisions. If people buy product in good numbers it most likely will continue to be offered. I was in the farm implement business long enough to see parts inventory being tracked on a card file....to micro fische...to computer. It was always interesting when a customer complained that you didnt have a part on hand when you could quickly click and see sales history. It would quickly cool the moment when you could say...3 yrs ago customers bought 10 of that ......2 yrs ago they bought 3....last yr they bought 1 and once sales dropped below 3/yr the computer cut off reordering for stock. Its great to have everything for everyone but numbers bought spin the wheel.

They where a fine bullet for the 45-70. I had a stash of them that I sold last year when I got rid of my 45-70 levergun.

I suspect the Partition - that is the PP we're talking about I assume- was priced just a bit too high to make the cut for many folks. Never mind the fact that it was a bullet which could just about do anything you'd want the 45-70 to get done. And "lesser" bullets like the Speer 300 Uni-Cor are still capable of most everything the Nosler could do but at less cost.

I don't know how much lesser the Unicor is, that's a damn good bullet. I believe you have experience with it.
The Hornadys and Sierras did get a little frangible at speeds above 1900 fps, especially so at 2200...

Mich, they introduced a new .45 cal bullet in that weight. It the 300gr Ballistic Silvertip. I suspect it would work really well at 45-70 velocities.
