Hello. I've recently relocated the Germany with work. Looking to try to hunt Roe deer sometime in the next 3 years. I'm looking for an idea of good outfitters and prices. I don't have a rifle so renting one would be necessary.

I would recommend to ask your local forestry office ("Forstamt"). You might be able to hunt for free.

If you are associated with the military then the best bet locally is the Rod and Gun Clubs on the military bases. They are an incredible source of information. If you are looking to work with a local booking service Frankonia Jagd used to have a booking service - don't know if they still do. Hope this help. Weidsmannheil.

Given the cheap airline flights across Europe these days, you might want to consider coming over here to the UK to stalk Roe.

I'm not in the loop for commercial hunting outfits, but I could probably dig up some recomendations..

Most stalkers over here would have a rifle to lend a client, and its usually part of the price, although some charge extra for ammo..

You would need no licence or tags or anything, and the season is long, ie six months for the bucks and six months for the does..

Where exactly in Germany?

Now that most of the installations are closed as well as the old military hunting programs I would look to England and Scotland for Roe and Red Deer or east to places like the old Soviet block which is where many Germans looked 30 years ago.

American j�ger here, first I see yor location is APO AE. You are asking the wrong question. Your first question should be to MWR,"when is your next hunting class?" After completing hunting school and being knighted you will know where to go, forstampt.you can get paid to hunt, lease square kilometers of land, hunt for free on staatland or reviers. Bottum line you are not going to hunt with out a jagdschein.
