We picked up around an inch here. Needed it.
Bad storms East of us. 2 confirmed tornados, wind damage and major power outages. Church was destoyed in New London.

we needed it badly too. Dave you know how fast they are to make a change on something  I never knew 1.5 lbs of antelope burger mixed with 1/2 lb of breakfast sausage would only yield 3 burger patties. that and I've never figured out why they sell "hamburger" buns at half size either. strange

how you guys coping with the skeeters this year?
I was out at my hunting area last night to check a camera( which malfunctioned), and the skeeters were en masse.
in the minute it took to get the camera and leave,I must have got bit 30 times easy.the camera was on the edge of the homeowners lawn,and I was only in the woods for a few seconds.
aint putting up any stands till frost this year.

Same here. I'm not doing much till we get a good frost. 'Might break down and go try to swat some early grouse and timberdoodles, but other that that, I'm leaving the woods to the skeeters.

we did ok bug wise by the cabin yesterday but when we picked blueberries on our way out we got tore up pretty bad by the skeeters.

I got bit 3 times the other day at work and saw 2 by the light of the house when I got home too, they are bad this year for some reason.

No way I'm going to let skeeters keep me out of the woods.

I saw that here too Bill. Neighbor dude has a few on the edge of his property that are turning yellow. Nights are cooling off, humidity seems to be a bit lower, and these cooler August temps are fine with me!

Just got back from a business trip to Coeur d'Alene Idaho. Very nice place. They have a nice lake there that you can a lot of activities on. Of all the places I have travelled for business, this was definitely one of the nicer areas.
The cool days and nights have started to give me the fever as well. That and a trip to Game Fair. The kids sure had a great time there shooting pellet guns, bb guns, slingshot, archery, etc. One more weekend of that for those of you that are interested.
What you do today is important, you are trading a day in the rest of your life for it.
