Went hunting with the boy, yesterday. At least the sun shined and it wasn't nearly as muggy. New place, with all kinds of wildlife. Deer, turkeys, coons, ducks, geese, and skads of squirrels! Squirrels were wilder than march hares, but I did finally manage to dumb into two. maddog

Forgot to mention, when I was picking the second squirrel up off the ground, two hen turkeys, hiding in some tall weeds about 10 ft. from me, erupted out of the grass, flying off. I about peed my pants, then laughed my azz off! maddog

Went yesterday, saw a bunch of squirrels, but they were all moving fast. Had one pinned down in a pignut hickory, and....missed him! . Don't know if it's me, my danged bi focals or the scope...but I took the Hubel scope[as ingwe calls it] off the rifle and replaced it with a fixed 4x leupold with lower rings. Going out tthis pm and sight it in, and give it a shot thurs., sat., and sun. If that don't work, I'm going in to get my eyes checked, next week[I'm over due]. Gonna be hotter than H for the next 3 days, then finally cool off. Stay tuned...... maddog

I'm suspending my squirrel season for the next couple of weekends. Got a date with, hopefully, three speedgoats! Remember to take the shotguns with you squirrel hunting in Oct. as you'll be able to shoot turkeys too!!

Well there goes that plan. Sounds like you need one of those 10-22 arrow barrels...

Well there goes that plan. Sounds like you need one of those 10-22 arrow barrels... SWEEEEET! You could use the 10/22 to drill pilot holes in deer, then use thearrow barrel to kill them legally in archery season!
