Hi, looking to go to Colorado, or somewhere else for elk, by the time I draw a tag in pa I might be in my 80's. I almost exclusively use a longrifle(flintlock) so a muzzleloader season looks to be the ideal situation(less hunters). I refuse to pay 5k for a guided hunt, looking more into a drop(spike)camp ordeal. Problem is it will be me and myself, and deciding where to go. Yes I have never hunted elk, so in "field" terms I am a newbie. Doesn't matter how much you read about it. Even thought about finding and hiring someone that packs you in and out, maybe will even retrieve your harvest if you contact them. I understand these are not canned hunts and alot depends on yourself, which is no problem here. Thanks for your input.
