Two things to do.
As noted above, get the long Weaver base that extends about an inch forward of the receiver. If the little gap between the top of the barrel and the bottom of the extended base bothers you, you can get a piece of sheet brass, fold it once (to double its thickness), and push it in the gap like a long flat shim. If you get it to the proper thickness, it will stay in nicely, and actually dresses the rifle up a little. It prevents dirt and grease from building up in the little gap.
And use Burris Z Rings, weaver attachment type. They are about 1/4 of an inch thinner than standard rings and will give you that much more space. Made of steel, not aluminum. Very strong. The rings you show are very very wide, and unnecessary.
The XS rails also work great, but look best on a battle-scout type rifle, not one with a classic western looks such as yours.
