Mine is the standard barreled 77/22 Hornet that I floated and did a trigger job on. It shoots the 35gr Vmax around 1.5" @ 100yds and the 46gr Win HP 1" or less for 3 shots @ 100yds. I have killed a pile of stuff from rats to coyotes with mine out to 200yds or so. I think there is some stuff you can put in the 2 piece bolt to help with accuracy but mine is good enough for what I use it for, if it misses it's my fault.
When I die I hope I don't start voting democrat.

Mine shoots the 35 gr v-max into less than 1" every time. Mine is the VHZ model.

Had one. Traded it or sold it shortly after I got it. Best it would do with factory ammo was 1.5" to 2.0" for 3 shot groups... Forgive me for not hand loading, bedding, tweaking, etc... Just felt it should have been more accurate than that out of the box...

I have one that took LOTS of improving, bedding, trigger, etc but it shoots 35 VMAX with Lil Gun at right at 1" now. Fun on juvenile dogs in the spring.

Had the heavier gray barrel model, really liked the rifle. Didn't shoot very well and sold it.
Now regret selling it as I would have liked to have put a 17 Hornet Barrel on it.

A buddy of mine had one. 2" - 3" with factory loads. He debated having the bolt tightened and bedding but decided against it since he doesn't handload. Traded it off and doesn't regret it.

A guy I know brought one to the range and when he pulled it out, the first thing I thought of was it's going to shoot like chit (cause of all the horror stories you hear). However after he shot a few groups with it, we walked down to the targets and each load he tried was less than 3/4". Needless to say, I was impressed. His was freefloated, but I don't think it was bedded..
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

I tried three different sporter models all brand new all with the same results as above so I sold them and gave up on the idea...........Good luck..............Hb

Mine was sold quickly, couldnt't hit a softball at a 100, but never knew about the improvements that I could have done. I'd buy another just to see if I could get it to shoot.

I always liked the looks and handling of them, but when it came time to get a Hornet I went a different way due to the magazine on the Ruger limiting OAL too much with pointy bullets. Just my $.02.

i went the Savage model 40 route. It doesn't carry like the Ruger, but has a 2 lb trigger and is a sub-MOA shooter, right out of the box.

Mine shoots some days and other days I cannot hit anything. I think it has something to do with the terrible trigger. It takes much more concentration on the trigger than any of my other guns. Last time I took it out I also took my new 375 Alaskan. The Alaskan out shot that little hornet all day long by a good margin. Another problem no one else mentioned isthe bolt throw. I had to use xtra high mounts to put an old leupold vxII on mine. Also do not like the fact that I cannot load ballistic tips because they won't fit in the magazine. If I was you I would take a look at that Savage.

Rifle has been flawless and very accurate, too with 3 shots at 100 yds going as small as 5/16" and commonly shooting 1/2" for 3 @ 100yds.
