EBT card to buy HoHo's, Dingdongs, soda, and any kind of frozen prepared TV dinner, pizza, burritos, etc. Turbine powered mini marts that trade EBT money .50 cents on the dollar for cigarettes and beer/booze. Same with tattoo parlors. When the takers out number the givers, look out.

How many $22.50/hour entry level jobs exist? As a single mom with two kids you would have to make almost $70K a year to get ahead of the fair market value of what you were "entitled to" when you were making $29K reportable.

as long as the minimum wage is below the poverty line - and there is a mass of people voting that don't make a decent wage - this is always going to be the case.
either get rid of the safety net or raise wages - that's the only two options
well I guess a 3rd option is to do nothing and let the whole thing collapse for both the poor and the people working. When the dollar collapses, it won't just be for the people drawing welfare.
