I have a Weaver K4 (1950 I think) with old Redfield rings and base.
The rings look like one piece??? When you take out the screws they loosen up and slide, but the scope would have to be dismantled to take them off. Is this right?

Number two, will new two piece Redfield rings fit the old base?

Dino, yes & yes. You're correct on both questions.

Off to buy new rings for a 1999 scope for a late 40's or early 50's base on a 1939 rifle.
I love that rifles last :-)

Scope is on with Leupold low rings, safety was close but is free from contact. The first style M70 safety is more of a flag, sticks up a bit.
Thaks for the advice 3dtestify.
