I've hung a Primos TC 35 on the same tree with a Moultrie 65. The Moultrie took 1 picture and it was a late trigger, got a deer tail. The primos took over a hundred pictures, 80% of which were wildlife with others being wind pics, blowing grass/branches etc.

Our moultries just wont trigger.

Missy has one and Nate has one, I often walk past them when they are out just trying to get them to wake up.

Moultrie = chronic narcolepsy.

I have one of these. I'd recommend one. They are pretty cheap and if it doesn't last forever, its not like I sunk $150 into it.

Those are my current fav.

Bang for buck.

If money isn't a concern then there are some incredible cams out there.

But the ole primos 35 triggers like a mofo, excellent battery life and they are dirt cheap.

Got a Primos 35 and Primos 46. They sit out all year. On it's 3rd year now, the 35 has a problem with not triggering, going to try a factory reset and put it back out.

But even if it doesn't work again, the 35 gave me 3 great years at about $30/year, I'm thrilled with both of them. The 46 takes better pics and lasts longer on batteries, tho, ime. Good budget buys.

Buy crap and be prepared to purchase again
I got tired of it and stepped up to quality cameras and won't ever look back
Also wont buy a camera that has a flash or infrared light, black out technology for night shots so game isn't spooked

I'm concerned about what is there when I'm there, for that I use Swaro SLC 7x42's. The other times when I'm not there, I don't care what is there.

I'm really glad Montana drew a line in the sand by not allowing game cameras during hunting season.

We tried them on the goat mountains in AK but it would sometimes be a year before we could check them again...

Rick- Bass Pro in Auburn has Truth Cam 35 for $79 for a limited time, as do some Walmarts - found one in Canton a few weeks ago. Based on my limited sample size of 1 (and its replacement) I like them because they are simple, trigger well, batteries last and make it easy to swap memory cards (I use 1-2 meg cards, they are cheap and plentiful). I have not used the video option with mine yet, but plan to soon.

However, you might want to look into the factory refurbished from Natchez, as the Primos fix policy is weak at best. You end up sending in the camera, and paying a fee to do so. I have not heard back yet, but think I will hear that mine is fried and they will offer a percentage off MSRP on a new purchase, which will end up being what I could buy one at Wal Mart for. I now consider them disposable, and that's why the refurbs sounds good.

Why is mine first one broken- user error- do not load the batteries in backwards - it causes a short condition and seems to cook everything. Operator error, but a warning in the manual would be nice, or adding a $.03 diode to the circuit that prevents this would be ideal.

I have limited experience with an old Moultrie, which although working, triggers rarely. Used to think operator error, now I can see I am doing things right, and the camera has been in for service, so I prefer the Primos. Good luck.

I like Covert for the reasons above and my Red 40 has been on the same set of batteries for 6 months so far.

Here is some good reading
http://www.trailcampro.com/

I have Moultrie D55IR. It is ok but nothing spectacular. I have gotten plenty of partial bodies.
