I know it is legal for me to mail a firearm to an FFL in another state. But I can't seem to find the form for a NON-FFL holder can use to declare that they are shipping a firearm via USPS to an FFL holder. It is not form 1508. Does anybody have that link? I should have bookmarked it....
Could have sworn there was a sticky on this site about it somewhere....

No form is required. Simply need to make sure that the place you are sendinig it does in fact have a valid FFL. That is all. I have never known the USPS to check, FWIW.

No form, unless of course the Soviet Socialists of New York have recently mandated something.. There is no form. When you take your package in to the PO, they will ask if it contains anything liquid, hazardous, fragile or perishable. They will likely ask if it contains batteries or tobacco products. There were be no mention of a firearm. You have no reason to mention one either, since you will have already made sure you are in fact, shipping to a FFL.

The form is for handguns which must be FFL to FFL. Don't expect your postmaster to know the rules, much less the clerk. If you ask their inclination is to say you can't ship it and not make the effort to look it up.

Don't think you can send a firearm via USPS. Don't think you're right. Actually, know you're not right.

You can ship a long gun or shotgun through USPS without it being FROM an FFL. If you are shipping a pistol with USPS, it has to go FFL to FFL.

Just for piece of mind, it's wise to obtain a copy of the FFL holders license so you have a CYA thing IF anyone ever questions it.. Oh, and you DO NOT inform the clerk what's in the box.. If they ask, reply with, "nothing that's liquid, fragile, perishable or hazardous!" Just make sure the box you're sending it in has nothing on the outside that indicates a firearm is inside..
