Cougars are my favorite. They take more of my skill and intelligence to call than anything else I hunt.
Mule deer # 2. I like the country they inhabit, the animal, the taste and I just like the robust shape of their antlers compared to the more dainty artistic headgear on other deer.

Dove hunting rates the top for me or a good covey of quail.
I like hunting wild boar over White Tails.

Waterfowl. By far. Why? Endless variety of birds, lots of surprises. Sunrises/sets and being in and on and around the water, mostly. Do it from marsh to ocean, from river to pond, from creek to swamp. And fields, for geese and some others. Nothing better. Hot damn I can't wait.

Dove hunting is my all time favorite. Being from Oklahoma, we have always had large populations of dove, and I have many great memories of hunting these elusive birds since childhood. Some of my most memorable hunts were with my boys. Dove hunting seems to be the big kickoff to all the great hunting in the fall. +1, Nothing beats a good dove hunt!

In order -
Antelope - great time of the year, great to eat. Spring turkey - exciting, challenging, it's the spring. Elk - I've only had 3 tags but been on several other hunts. Majestic and exciting. Grouse - beautiful time to be out. Hunting with pals and this year with my springer. Mule deer - because I love glassing and hunting the prairie, breaks and high ground.

It's a very interactive hunt, duck would be second. I like to deer hunt more for the food aspect of it in generally. Though I do love chasing Sitka blacktails.

Upland birds over a good dog is hard to beat.
Absolutely! Sad to say that here in SW Virginia the birds are few and far between any more.

Hard to pic a favorite. Screaming bull elk with a bow or muzzleloader? Hunting a big Muley buck in rugged mountain country? Sneaking in close to a grizz that could turn the tables and kill it's pursuer? Successfully stalking a mature blacktail buck on the ground and putting an arrow through it's vitals? Hunting big salmon & steelhead in a beautiful western river? Calling in a big fluffy winter coyote or bobcat? Glassing up herds of migrating caribou on the vast arctic tundra?
Nope, can't pick just one, I love it all!

Saw two on stand last evening.

Simply don't care. Any excuse to carry a rifle in the field is enough. Couldn't give a damn if I never fire a shot.
