Stepped out the door at about 5:45 to turn on the sprinklers. A motion in the neighbor's yard caught my eye. They're not early risers so the hackles went up on my neck a bit. My eyes are adjusting to the low light, and I see it's a big deer under the apple tree standing up get at the low hanging apples. I stand still for a couple seconds as my eyes adjust to the low light. It's a friggin' buck, and a big one at that. No way to know for sure, but it looks like a big 6 or 8 point. Just then a dog yips in the next yard over and the deer takes off for the bean field across the street. All I can see is horns. I'm thinking it's more like a 10 point or bigger. How has this guy hung out literally in my back yard all spring and I haven't seen him? Oh yeah, it's time to go hunting!

The good news is you will not have far to go to be hunting unless you have a huge backyard!

Hey Kenna! It was a great weekend and I Glad we got to share it with you! Splashy is a great nickname, especially after watching you on the 4-wheeler yesterday. How was your ride back? Did you make it through the road on the way out of Chickenbuck?

ND is going to have to build a bigger sand trap at the gate if he's going to catch this white bear!
Good to see you folks again even if it was only for a short visit.
Welcome Kenna!
Do not feed the bear!

Nate went before us but the old blue explorer made it through with the proper combination of air/fuel mixture and a fair amount of sliding sideways through the mud while pulling a trailer.

Great pics! You could tell she was having a blast. I'm glad she had fun. It took two car washes to get the mud off the car. It was pretty bad, but fun. It was stuck in 4lo. I was having visions of riding back 300 miles with a top speed of 40 mph. After driving about a mile down the forest road, I got it to come out.... whew! I was relived to say the least.

Thanks everybody for coming up, it was a great weekend even though rain kept us in the cabin for a while. We ate very well, these ribs are just one of the many great meals that were devoured. All in total we had 15.5 lbs of pork ribs. Saturday morning a bunch of us rode wheelers out a 1/4 mile from the cabin and we picked our own blueberries for blueberry pancakes. I still can't believe we got blueberries in Sept. (granted, Saturday was aug 31 but we were still picking berries here and there all weekend) More to come in a while.
Something clever here.

Dave, great looking ribs.
Question. You have a pitcher pump in the background of one of the pics. Did you drive a sand point? If so, how deep?
