I know lots of guys run ARs but I'm a bolt gun guy myself. I use a Ruger American in 243 w/Redfield 4-12x and a buddies 22 mag for coyotes. Bought a nice heavy barreled 22-250AI years ago with the idea of it being a coyote gun but its too darn heavy at 14 pounds. Anyway what are your rigs?

I'm starting to develop a love affair w/ a Mossberg MVP, the one w/ the 24" barrel and vertical grip.
Cheers

If i was able to hunt song dogs, i would use my Remington 700 VSC in .223. Big barrel, but light weight.

Lately, I have been shooting a Varmint 700 in .243..
I usually pack two rifles:
a. a .22-250, Swift, or .22-250AI

b. a 25-06 thru the 7mm Mags. for windy weather in open country..

223 Rem, my favorite cartridge - you can't argue with truckloads of dead PD's and gophers.

CZ 527 American in .223, Tikka T-3 Lite in .243 or an AR I put together with Stag lower, DPMS upper with 16-in heavy barrel. In the .223s, I use 40 gr Ballistic Tips or V-Maxs and in the ,243, I use 70 gr Blitzkings.

Got a couple guns to baptize this winter, a 17 Remington with 25 grain hornady hollow points and a 220 swift ackley with 53 grain hollow points. Then there is the always reliable 223 ackley with 40 grain noslers. Might even take out the 17 hornet a few times this year

a great run of pics Huntsman--really enjoyed them, especially the first one...
