Here are some pics of the progress last weekend. The neighbor dog only put a couple prints in the fresh concrete. Finishing. It went really quick. It helps when that is what Scott does for a living & had 8 of his co-workers to help.
I am out of order until further notice. My "stupid people" filter needs cleaning and my "give a damn" batteries have run out.

Bonfire afterwards with guitar music. I got a guitar and I am going to teach myself to play so I can jam with them. .

As an inspector of all things concrete...I see a few flaws. Kidding. Looking good muffster. When do you get to start putting up walls?

The building next to the one I'm working collapsed today and killed the operator in the excavator. It's not pretty. It's very bad actually. Emergency response is still trying to get the building off the backhoe, which is completely crushed. The windshield of the hoe flew 100'.

Damn! That's ugly news for sure.
I drove by the building that collapsed in Phillie last summer and killed about 6 folks. I was surprised how small the area was compared to what I had see in the news beforehand. Doesn't take much to cause a disaster.

Oh man Tom, sorry to hear that. I watched the guy delivering the lumber today and this is what he did. It happened in slow motion so it seemed like he tried to do it. He said he can't help me with that cuz it said it was a "driveway drop off". I said I don't think they literally meant to drop it on the driveway.

man, that is a bummer. That is not a really big deal this time but you might make a comment because there will be more deliveries and sloppy unloading will be more of a problem when the sheet rock and some of the other stuff comes. You need to get these guys trained apparently.
When we built (albeit the contractors built), we got daily deliveries of just what was needed that day - all very carefully selected and then unloaded as we went along.
Building is exciting and fun stuff. Though I admit, I only drove a small percentage of the nails myself.
Make it fun!

Call them and tell them they need to come and get the lumber. It's unusable unless they come fix the pile. A few times of that and your pile should be right. I had 6 huge oaks cut out of my front yard on Saturday due to Oak wilt. They didn't finish because of daylight and said they'd come back Tuesday and finish up. Well, the dropped the biggest one in my neighbors yard and left a 4' stump. I called and asked when they'd like to come back and finish it. He sounded puzzled and said we just did. I texted him a picture and he said, "I'll be right over to clean it up."
