I found some gas checked 190 grain RN .321 bullets. I' want to try them in my Gew 88. Anyone have any lead bullet load data or a good load for this combo?
I'm also interested in hearing if anyone used C.E. Harris data and used Unique or Red Dot.
I have IMR 4895, 3031, 4064, 4350,4831, and varget

Are you referring to Harris's 'universal' load of 13 grains of Red Dot?

I haven't used it with cast bullets,(yet) but have in a .30-06 under jacketed 150 gr FP softpoints of the kind intended for .30 WCF. It is a very mild load with a low report, but I don't know how it would work with oversize cast bullets.

Yes, I was talking about the Universal Red Dot load. I can't find a pound of Red Dot to use here in Alaska. However, this weekend, I used the other Universal load of Unique powder. I used 12 grains with no stuffing on top of the powder and a .321 190 grain lead round nose bullet in my Gew 88 (8x57). I only got 1441 fps (average) so I think I bump up another grain. I'm looking for 1700fps. There was no sooting like the mild loads with IMR 3031 and 4895. It was very accurate with 4 bullet holes of five touching.

Whatever you are willing to put up with, is exactly what you will have.

When your ship comes in. ... make sure you are willing to unload it.

PAYPAL, sucks and I will never use them again. I recommend you do the same.

Check your groove diameter. I bet a dollar it is .3205 to .321.
