Bought a few boxes of HPR 10mm loaded with the 180gr Hornady XTP at an advertised 1270fps. HPR markets their ammo as "hyper clean" burning with minimal airborne emissions. I didn't notice any difference in report between them or my standard Georgia Arms 180gr Gold Dots @ 1150fps, but they are shiny. Getting dark earlier, but managed to empty a magazine of 8 into a nice fist sized target at 15 yards. Appears to be a nice stout load and further evidence that the 10mm is alive and well.

Thanks guys. Unfortunately the bastid is heavy and only holds 8 rds. Starting to feel like one of those old farts with a 1873 Peacemaker at the range.

Heavy is good with those full blast 10mm's.

If 8 rnds of 180 gn XTPs at 1270 FPS can't solve the problem, it's probably not fixable without a rifle in hand. Think I still feel well equipped with a DE.
