Hey Friends It is easy to ignore the comments from those who have nothing positive to contribute to an otherwise very enjoyable topic. Every forum has a couple of these types, this one is no different. Some people simply do not have the ability to play well with others. Moving on.... One of our friends and regulars here was asking about practical size differences between the Redhawk and Blackhawk/SBH, among other handgunning questions, via PMs. I took this pic tonight for visual reference. While I enjoy my Single Actions, I really like the grip frames of the Redhawk and N frames with Eagle Classics or Herretts Ropers ( or similar types)for doing precise shooting. Purely personal preferences. Some do better work with SA guns. Anyways, here is the pic that I figured I would share. On another note and slightly off topic. Some here "apologize" for contacting me with questions/advice about various subjects. There is never a reason to apologize and nobody is "bothering" me. It may take a day or two due to my schedule, but I will always try to get back to guys. To be honest, I am both flattered and a humbled by all of it . Also, there is a lot of stuff that is not in my area of experience and I have no problem saying so. Cheers!

I don't have any pics to add to this thread yet, as my only .44 is a 94 Trapper. May be able to change that soon though. I found a Ruger Alaskan in a small gunshop Friday for a bit over $800. Anyone have anything good or bad to pass along about these before I dive in? Thanks!

Always wanted one myself, but BM's are spendy for a toy I'll likely just cut myself with repeatedly.

Since we're bumping this for dla... I was gifted this Bali-Dong and itwas a POS. Came apart twice in the field despite Loc-Tite. They offered me full credit for it so I believe I had about $225.00 to put toward another one. I went all out and it only cost me about $75.00. They're actually very good knives. And I think it slices about every person that [bleep] with it. Great knives, even if they're not 44's.

Do any of you gentlemen use H108? It is similar to AA#9 I ended up buying an 8 lb jug of it and am set for life I think. I cast Lyman 429421 and they weigh about 250 grs. I use 18-19.5 hrs depending how Frisky I feel It gives me 1200 fps from a four inch 629. I won't bother to post a picture you know what they look like. No varmint has ever charged me and lived to tell about it. whelennut

Probably the only bali's to ever have game blood on 'em.............rather than the usual newbie twirler blood.

Guys with a few 29-2s in the safe don't have to compensate for a damn thing.........and they know it.
Same goes for old Flattop and three screw Blackhawks.

What makes you think they are compensating for something?

dla, what is it that you are compensating for by posting all of your negativity? Do you not like .44 magnums? What is it about this thread that bothers you? This is my latest acquisition, a Bisley in .44 mag with a looooooong 7 1/2-inch barrel.

My second .44mag was a 7.5" Bisley. A very well balanced revolver with the Bisley grip. I've also got a SBH Silhouette.........it's sooooooo long I don't even have a holster for it.

Gotta love those long barrel 44's. Not much for packin', but great fun for shootin'.

Also good for compensatin' ; ) I don't think there is any firearm category I like more than quality .44 revolvers.
