Anybody ever done a floor plate conversion on a Montana?

One smith expressed the opinion to me that the Montana stock needs the structure it has and cutting it out would not be best practice. I haven't tried it.

Wouldn't think just cutting the hole would be workable. Am wondering of ways to reinforce after cutting. But never heard of that being done.

I have not heard of it but as you point out, it seems feasible. I would personally prefer being able to get at the action from the bottom in the case of a jam.
