Is an Ion Pulse Cannon from the T/C custom shop that I won from Cpt. Kirk on a bet. We were drinking one night in the Enterprise lounge with some Klingons after the war was over and I suggested he didn't have the nads to make one of them wenches howl. He got all huffy and called BS on that so I pointed and said "You're on."

He folded up right there on the spot and muttered something about "wenches, not hogs. I have a reputation to uphold."

The other barrel is a .30-30 Win.

Actually that's not far off base. I'm gonna whack a pig with this one in a few weeks or...whenever. .17 caliber Zimmersteutzen what uses a 4mm RF blank to drive a lead BB.

But for the 400 yards part, I'd say use anything you want. With that requirement, though, I'd say .270W, .308W, etc., with a 22"-ish barrel. Whatever handles best for you. And I don't think your .260 is a wrong answer, at all.

My farthest shots on hogs have been right at 100 yards: .223 (64 grain SP) and .300WM (168 TSX) both dropped them neatly.

Those damned pictures that Steelhead put up made me get my own .300 Savage a while back, & I like it awfully well. If I could actually see to 400 yards, I'd not be afraid to press the trigger of that rifle on a hog at that distance.

It was me, I'd just use the .260 you already have. Otherwise, if you must, pick up a used M99 in either .308 or .300 Sav, mount a FX-II 4x33 and kill stuff.
