Anybody here use or own one of these presses? How do you like it? I've heard good and bad about it.

I've seen the RCBS, haven't used it . I own a Redding, and love it. After seeing my redding my buddy bought one also.

Why on earth would anyone buy one of those contraptions when they could buy a Dillon 550B? If you are going to have a "turret" press, get a good one.

I inherited an RCBS Turret from my father. I was at first apprehensive, but have grown to really like it. I use it like a single stage, but it allows me to keep several sets of dies set up, and ready to go.
There is some slop in the turret, but its repeatable and causes no issue if you keep that slack in mind when setting up dies. I feel the Redding is probably a beefier press, but overall I am quite happy.
As for Dillon, I had a 550, and didn't care for it. I think the Square Deal is a better pistol progressive, and the 650 if one needs to run rifle stuff en masse. For me, a Square deal for bulk pistol, and a turret and single stage for rifle stuff suits me just fine.

A turret press and a Dillon are for two different types of loading. If you are developing a load the turret is better, If you are running off 100 rounds the Dillon is better. I have both and I had an RCBS and it had too much slop in the turret so I sold it and bought a T7 by Redding which is a great press for what it is intended.

I don't follow your rationale as to why a turret is better than a Dillon for load development. You don't HAVE to run it as a progressive, it is manually indexed. I have a five-gallon bucket of 308 brass I'm getting ready to process. I'll probably resize most of it on my Rock Chucker with a case kicker, then tumble the lube off, trim with a WFT in a drill press, then run it all through the Dillon 550B to prime(decapper to punch the flash hole again), drop powder, and seat and crimp. Whats not to like?
