I believe they are dogwood. But I find that identifying stuff from photos is pretty tough sometimes. Dogwood berries are white and abundant at this time of year.

No.

the leaves would be a 3 point leaf like a maple leaf and they would be getting a lot of red on them by now.

That looks like dogwood, people call them "snow berries"

Grouse like em, a lot.

The wind was blowing a bit too hard for any grouse to be out, so we had a little contest with a couple rimfires.

The kids did really good.

ND, Wow, that camera takes some fantastic pictures! Extremely crisp images.

Spent last week in Phoenix. it is hot down there.

Got back late Friday night and was in the duck slough Sat morning with the boys. another good duck hunt with 7 mallards in the bag. i made a big mistake on where we set up. If we would have been about 40 yards to the right and out a bit, we would have had ducks landing on our hats!

Now I have a really good pheasant dog, but a brittany is not really a duck dog and I havent trained her on that skill so she stayed home and I was the retriever. Our slough has that sticky mud that wont let your foot go and it had a mat of some type of cattail/weed mixture on top. OHMYGOSH was that hard walking! My brother fell twice...that was really funny! Maybe beyond really funny even. And to answer the question in your minds, NO! I did not bring the ducks back in my mouth.

Maybe someday.

wink

I tell ya, it isn't pictured above but we competed with the pink 10/22 (Taylors) as well as the nylon 66.

That little pink gun is a real shooter.

I really should get one of those little 10/22's. I have a 77/22 I don't think I'd part with.

oh gosh no.

The high bush cranberries are the brightest red you can imagine. And about now the berries are nice and soft. They grow in clumps that hang downwards from thin stems. The bushes can get very tall and on a good year you can fill a gallon bucket very quickly.

Hi Stan, it was actually a convertible Ruger single six on my belt that day.

I sure wish I could get it to shoot decent, lol.

I do far better with the high standard actually.

I'm kind of shopping for a replacement.

I'd love to try a model 48 S&W

All and all was a good trip.. It was my first trip to Alaska.. The fishing was awesome we caught around 100 rainbow trout and dollys..
It was my first time in a little plane i thought it was fun, more leg room then i thought there was going to be LOL.... I shot mine about 1 mile away from camp...We hunted close to camp first couple of days. Then realized there was more caribou further away.. By that time one guy in our party was having a hard time walking around the tundra.. Bad boots... So we wasnt to amped up to race up the hill and go after them....

I'd say over all the trip was physical packing the meat out while navigating thru the tundra..And very mental it got down to 14 degrees at night..Was suppose to be 28 at night.. Layer up layer down all day long kinda wore me down a little bit....

fluffy,
I had a S&W model 22 which is very similar with the rails.Great shooting pistol with a 2X scope on it. You are gonna really like this one.

Mr. Jack's team won another game last night under yhe lights, moving to 4-0. I'm not sure of the final score but I think we had 8 touchdowns and a safety. We were only able to convert on 3 extra points for some reason.

The got punched in the mouth early by giving up a touchdown, the first time this year they've scored on. The other team was a VERY firsty and dirty playing team from our same league, who were obviously coached to play that dirty because kids just don't do that or even know how to play that way, truthfully.

We didn't try to run the score. We had kids playing running back that have never done it, running 60 yard touchdowns. Not much we can do for that.

My little buddy played great by getting a sack, a fumble recovery, a kick return, and "eating a beast of a linebacker for dessert." (his words)

We have 4 more game in the next 10 days so we will be busy!
