Anybody know if the #9 edition has the .338 Ruger Compact Magnum listed, and a charge for the SuperPerformance powder?

Not looking for a free data dump, if the data is in the book, I'll buy one.

The LGS has two new sealed copies, but won't open one to check if the load is listed.

I have the book.
It lists the rcm but no superformance...all old school powders.
Pm me if you need more info.

Last year I emailed or called Hornady and Hodgdon asking for 338 RCM loads using Superformance powder and both replied that Superformance was not a suitable powder for the 338 RCM, but it would work in the 300 RCM.

If you want to try one of the newer powders, I've been having good results with 62.5gr of RL-17 with the 200gr SST at a OAL of 2.831", and crimped in the cannelure. This works in my SS Hawkeye Compact Magnum with 20" barrel, but it's at or near max. Approach with care.

I've got some loaded with the same 62.5gr charge of RL-17 under a 200gr Accubond to OAL of 2.850" and lightly crimped, but I haven't tested them yet.

I'll chrono those loads at next range session.

Will be looking forward to your chrono results. I just scoped a ruger compact mag myself and will be doing some load work up soon and was thinking that RL-17 might be a powder I need to try.

Thanks for the replies, the information from Hornady is especially interesting, given the parentage.

I've had good accuracy with the Hornady 225, and no luck finding 200 grain loads on the shelf or web. I have the SST bullets and dies, will need to move them to the reloading bench.

The 225 sst is a nice looking bullet.
I run that bullet through a lee swaging die which squeazes it down to .329 and load it in my 8x56r steyr mil surplus.
It spits em out at 2200fps...haven't run em into animals yet...hoping that plastic tip gets things opening quick.
