I was having a lot of problems with IE. It got to the point that I was blaming Road Runner for my internet being so slow and messed up. I couldn't even get the links to "U TUBE" from the "Campfire" to play at all.
I called RR and the tech told me to download "GOOGLE CHROME". He told me to keep IE if I wanted to use it for some reason (I have).
I did the download, and have been using GC almost 100% of the time. It's insanely faster than IE, and almost 100% of the problems disappeared.

You won't be loosing anything by giving GC a try, you can always get rid of it in your control Panel if you don't like it.

There are like 6 threads going on right now all saying the same thing and people still won't switch to Chrome or Firefox.

Yup. I guess the poor boogers using Internet Exploder can't stay online long enough to read the other umtpy-ump threads on the same thing.

The answer is still the same: Firefox with AdBlock Plus. (Or Chrome if you don't mind having everything you do online monitored by Google...)

I was having the same problem until I installed this. Adblock Plus for Internet Explorer Been a couple of days now and it's working great for me so far. Adblock Plus for I.E. blocks the ads same as it does in Firefox and since blocking the ads I've not had even a single occurrence of I.E. closing.

I've had and used Firefox w/Adblock Plus as a backup browser to I.E. for several years now but lately it has had it's own quirky issues on my end. The last couple of version updates failed to transfer a bunch of my bookmarked websites over from the previous version to the newer one. As always, YMMV.

There's also a version of AdBlock Plus for Chrome.
