I heard that they kill honey bees. That is a eco disaster.
they dont live in a very big area.....hell they are on mainland China and after tens of thousands of years havent gone very far.....like most large insects they need pretty specific habitats.....yeah they kill honey bees but keep in mind where these wasps are the honeybees are the invaders.....

I'm thinking #9 shot and something between IC and Mod-------------what say the experts?
Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery. --Winston Churchill
The Asian Honeybee has adapted a defense to counter invasions by these hornets. When a scout hornet finds a bees hive, they mob it and all start beating their wings. This causes the temperature of the ball of insects to rise, and they effectively "cook" the intruder. The bees have a higher tolerance to heat than the hornets. It comes at a cost to the hive, but better than losing the whole colony. European honeybees have not adapted this defence, so are pilaged by the hornets.
I heard that Hornets have been exterminated from The Washington DC area. Maybe they should be declared to be an endangered species. So we could "re-introduce" some of these there. And give them "protected" status. Then see how they feel about Wolves in Idaho!
