I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on a pair of Vortex Kaibab 15x56 binos, but I need some help knowing what else I need to make them work. For example, they are supposed to come with the "Uni-Daptor Tripod Adapter" for use with a tripod. Is this all I need? Up until now, I've always glassed off of my Bog Pod with my 10x binos. It wasn't the ideal set up, but I liked it because I could switch to using the rifle on the bog pod quickly. But, the Kaibab's are 15x, and I'm worried they won't be steady enough. I don't want to drop several hundred dollars on a high end tripod. What are my options for a "good enough" tripod and window mount? Are the house brands from the major vendors good enough, such as Cabela's and Bass Pro? And, will the brand of tripod dictate which adapter(s) I have to buy? Or...should I just stick with resting them on my Bog-Pod as I have been? Are there any other "gotta have" items when using 15x binos?
Any advice would be helpful! Stepping up to 15x is a big step for me, and quite frankly could drastically change my hunting "style" for years to come (for mule deer, we are long time trackers) as I learn the proper techniques.
Thank you!
