Very nice, Muffy. Hope they get the shingles on before the weather turns nasty.

We got over 1/2 of one side shingled today. Hope to get the rest done by the end of the week. Going to be slower during the week cuz Scott is working in Grand Forks.

Wow muffster, it's coming along quickly! When do you think you'll be in it?

We got up north yesterday and got some trail cameras out. It was a beautiful day north of Duluth! It was wet from the previous days rain but we didn't get rained on.

I think we were at peak color too. Maybe even a little past. Most of the poppels lost their leaves, bit the maples, sumacs, dogwoods....they were all on full on color. A perfect day in the woods.

I'll post some pictures tonight.

I went muzzle loader hunting for deer yesterday at my neighbor's new hunting lease.Nice place with lots of deer and pig sign.
He got a shot at a deer but the cap misfired. No boom.
About half an hour later the same deer or another appeared and he shot but missed. I saw nothing but two beavers in the pond which my stand was near. A beautiful day and I got out and enjoyed it.
Ryan,congrats on the antelope.
Tjay,you did well.
Muffy, rather large looking house. How many square feet?

Congrats on the speed goat Ryan. How much snow did you gegt at home?

Temps warming up into the 50's in SD. Weather Channel says they're worried about flooding from the snow melt around Rapid City.

Muffy, you're really going to town on the roof.

It was a nice cool morning here. 43 on my way into work. Yesterday in the north country it was a high of about 45 and man was it refreshing. I REALLY neede that day up there to reset myself...and it worked.

We got two trail cams up, started a to build a blind on a new stand I call the "beaver pond" because that's what it over looks. the deer trails are tighter that a guy really wants but there are a few of them. Two trails converge on a point the blind is on and pass either side of the blind at 5 yards.

We checked out the safety on a few other stands and they looked good. There is another weekend of work to do but we'll get it. It was good to be in the bushes again!

I carried a shotgun but didn't see any birds. We did hear one drumming near a stat that gophergunner built a few years ago, and there was also a deer rub about 5 yards from that stand.

thanks everyone! this was my first antelope buck. I missed him at 780 yards that morning, wind was a little stiffer and more from the west than I had figured, blew the bullet just to the right of him. went back that evening and belly crawled to get into range, he had about 15 does with him. I laid in the grass for about 35 minutes, til he stood up. crosshairs on the closest shoulder to me, double lung shot he tried to run 20' before ass over teakettle. I heard the bullet whop him moments after I fired. It was an awesome hunt.

Congrats Ryan, I was texting with Keith a bit yesterday. He sent me a few pictures of the hot rods you guys were shooting.

Some very impressive rifles, serious stuff there.

I do seriously plan on making it next year unless it overlaps with CO elk hunting.

Nice Ryan! Very good looking buck. I was wondering how it was going out there for you with the storm.

Dave, to answer your question of a few pages back, we have a gas fireplace. But Mrs Berettaman....or I wonder if I should call her Berettawoman?....anyway we both sat on the couch and watched the fireplace fire away after the kids went to bed.

We pulled off another epic goose hunt on Saturday. I got my dad out and we had 8 adults and 7 kids. We were all done by 826 am with 24 geese. Could have probably shot 75 or so as they just kept piling in. Dad got the bug and we went out duck hunting that evening and ended up with 7 ducks. That is a great Saturday in my book.

Scary week for me as the wife signed the boys up for a hockey camp. Fingers crossed they dont like it! I do not want to be a hockey dad.

Colorado elk next year huh ND? We have a Wyoming trip planned. I cant wait!

The house looks nice and straight Muffy! no sag in the roof either! Keep the pics coming.

Nice Loper Ryan. What did you reach out and touch him with?

I made my longest shot on the doe loper. 500 yards measured with the range finder. Used my newly barreled 264 Win. with a new 4.5x14 leupy CDS. Running 125 Nosler Partitions at 3350 fps. The wind is always the issue....

We left before the snow. Again thanks for getting me out on the opener..
