Got a text last night from one of my elk-hunting partners--12 inches at camp and it was still coming down. Supposed to be warm tomorrow, though...

Was in my hunting AOR on Monday. Only snow was above 10K' and was 2-6". Well have to see what this weeks storm has in store for us. Hunting out my back door, south of town during second season.

A day after a snowfall every set of Elk tracks has footprints from three guys along side of it.

Rained here for about 4-5 hours early this morning (north side of the mountain below the Flat Tops) on top of soil pretty much saturated by some rain last week and 12 inches of heavy, wet snow last weekend. Gonna be pretty sloppy today...
More precipitation forecast for Friday/Saturday.

It was easier than that. I saw the elk first, and then followed the tracks. I was just scouting, and was curious where they went to escape. It ended up leading me to a new area, so the work was worthwhile.
