This is an RRA upper that will be matched up with my RRA NM lower. This is my first AR15 so I hope I did alright.

Elite A4 (chrm lined) 16" midlength
5.56mm w/ 1:9" twist
A2 Flashhide
A2 Front Sight
Tact Detachable Carry Handle
Mid-Length Alum Free Float Tube
Badger Tact Latch

It should be here in about 2 months or so....

I am going to shoot some varmints with it and do some steel target shooting with it at the range. I think I am going to match it up with an ACOG once I get the upper. I like to get rails for it someday but they are pretty salty!

I am glad I did enough homework that I didn't accidentally put Frankenstein together.

I'd say you did fine.

Depending on what you paid for it will determine greatness or not.

the cheaper the better, but with RRA, you probably paid a pretty penny.

It should be a nice one! Let us know what you think of it after you get it. I would guess you will be pleased!

I going to see if my FFL guy can get me some surplus ammo for it but besides that I have not given it much thought. Any suggestions? What kind of magazines do you think I should get for it?

On surplus ammo, don't buy a lot. Better to buy 100 rounds of each that you can find that fits your budget, see what shoots best, and then get a couple thousand rounds of that. It can vary greatly in quality and I'd stay the heck away from the Greek stuff for sure.

Mags-- get GI surplus 20s --30s look cooler but are a major PITA most of the time and if you can't get it with a 20, the 30 won't help much, IMHO. Its like putting all that rail crap and accessories on the gun. Who really needs em? And then there are the guys that want bayonet lugs on their 50 beowulf uppers..... give me a break...

They are all sold out right now so I will have to check back later. I think I am going to pick up a couple thirty and twenty round mags for it. Thanks for the heads up on that.

you may be able to pick up a few other mags or stuff over at AR15.com in the equipment exchange section.

someone is always getting rid of something, just buyer beware!
