The Chickenbuck Nation will be represented tomorrow, as I will be proudly wearing my Camp Chickenbuck T-shirt as I search for slickies. Actually, I'd be much happier if JustOneGunner would fill his tag. This WILL be the year. He's following in his dad's footsteps, as it took me 10 years to fill my first tag, and this is his 10th seaon of deer hunting. Good luck son!

The Chickenbuck Nation was represented in South Carolina on Wednesday. My neighbor invited me to hunt with him on his new lease. I had a good spot but he had a better one. I was really tickled to be there when he got his second ever deer. A frontal shot at 30 yards with a 7MM/08 and she dropped like a rock. Later when we dropped her off at the processor they found the bullet just under the skin around the ribcage. Yes,I WAS wearing my Camp Chickenbuck hat.
Stan in SC
The more I listen,the more I hear....and vice versa.
45/70,it's almost a religion.
If you have to take a second shot then you probably shouldn't have taken the first shot.

Perspective observation of the week. Obamacare rolled out over 2 weeks ago. It's kind of a big deal. What I mean is, everybody knows about it. Very few Americans do not know about obamacare. This thread here, nestled into a specific category within a forum that appeals to a specific lifestyle and specific interests... This thread is hidden, people have to happen across it like a 4 leaf clover that they found on accident. This silly thread tucked away in an outdoorsman discussion forum got twice as many views in one week than Obama care has for total enrolment to date. Let me say that again. The total enrolment number for obamacare to date is a number that is less than half the amount of one weeks views for this thread. This thread, which is basically nothing more than daily small talk like you might have at a quiet small town caf... a dozen old "regulars" talking about weather or what the grandson did yesterday. It's just a perspective thing I thought I'd share. Studies are showing around 36,000 folks have actually enrolled. I'm just saying... That's a tiny number, don't you think?

Yep it is. Most don't know how to sign up. When they do the site is screwed up. This site more fun anyway.
Kids are off of school today and tomorrow. We are going to the archery range (indoor) in a while. They can shoot here but wanted to try something different.

Oh how i cant wait to come back to some cooler temps and get into the deer stands with the kids this weekend. what an experience i've had the last 2 weeks in India, but i really miss my family and friends back home. Life is great in the U.S.A. good luck to those out hunting this weekend and be safe, i should get to touch down in minnesota in roughly 21 hours. I almost got attacked by a monkey today as well. only wildlife i seen over here almost.
It is a silly fish that is caught twice with the same bait!

They have to be at least 65, so they don't run as fast.
