Very fine.
My favorite parts are the treatment of the bolt handle to the root of the bolt, the rear square bridge, the treatment of the rear of the sear slot - thereby eliminating that little trench in the wood, and the welding up of the hole for he rear guard screw.
Haven't seen too many 1909s where the thumb slot has been filled in.
Lovely stock as well. Agreed that's a beauty...I like the scope mount/peep treatment.Thankfully the bolt knob was left smooth.
The 280 Remington is overbore.
The 7 Rem Mag is over bore.

Beautiful rifle!!! I have the exact combo (1909/35W), but mine is not nearly as nice, just a basic re-barrel, trigger, safety, Boyds laminated stock.

Didn't notice it before. Also like those "rounded" scope bases. Nice touch.

I love the bolt job!
Did Ed weld the new handle to the square bolt shank, or is it hard soldered? Maybe Force 44? Aspiring metal workers want to know!

Jim, that is beautiful! I'm envious of the skills required to so such work. I don't possess them. Nor do I.. I'm also betting the price on that beauty is somewhere north of 20 grand.. And worth every penny, IYAM..
