Just thought id let everyone know I made a fuzzy windchime last night doe came in and caught me moving started stamping her feet so I decided to put the kilt on her. Both lungs hit shoulder and and angled out the throat cutting the corotted artery. Bloody does describe. Made it all of 15 yards

Way to go! Hoping to do the same in a few minutes, just about prime time!

Good Job Coop!

I'm sitting here debating if I should go sit in a tree in the rain and sleet and cold north wind or if I should just wait.

Timing: getting one's dock and boat lifts out less than 16 hours before the first real snowstorm of the year.

I need new waders that don't leak. I REALLY need new waders that don't leak.....

Oooh, I bet that was chilly!

We just got back from camping and scouting/camera hanging, and some of it was in a snow. We got about an 1" that stuck for a while.

The camera pics are a bit disappointing unless you have a wolf tag. We had a lot of woof's howling around us while camping, both Friday night and Saturday morning. A fair amount during the day on Saturday as well, which surprised me.

I have a spike buck on the "beaver pond" stand and a a doe or does every day on the "pecker stand." Along with wolves on the "pecker stand" nearly every day. A few of the doe pics are in daylight though...all of the wolf pics are in daylight.

I'd say the sissies are the guys that had to use campers.

If our frost would have been any heavier the tent would have collapsed. smile

We got the camp set up and headed out for a little wheeler ride and to walk some trails for grouse.

This was a beautiful trail that screamed "grouse" but we didn't even flush one. Supposedly they're on a down year, and if this 3 mile walk we took was any indication....they are!

Ms. April wanted to take this pic of me.

We knew what this sky meant...it was cold already so we figured we were in for a long night.

Hot cider with vodka and a grilled cheese was waiting for me when I finished chopping wood.

Here are are a few trail cam pics.

Only a few deer I had at the "beaver pond" and I have about 30 pics of this first one from several days.

Hey! At least it's a buck. grin

Here is a mama deer crossing through the same trail.

I'm a bit disappointed with the date/time stamp on the Truth Cam 46. It worked for about 10 shots, then it crapped the bed.

Here are a few from the "pecker stand"

Nice big mama deer.

I'm not the only hunter in the area I guess.

Looks like a good weekend in spite of the weather, Tom.

Son left for elk camp in central Oregon today.

We're heading back to WI Monday.

This was about 16 hours after we got it all out of the water. We got about two inches before I left, this was right after it started falling.

It was 38 degrees out, water temp 49 degrees, and my waders were leaking.

I took a puck in the junk tonight from a guy who was considered to have a "heavy" shot when he played in the NHL. Didn't hurt a bit, as my nuts are somewhere between my navel and my nipples, and I probably won't see them for again until Thursday.....

eek

I'll take any of it over a "heavy slap shot to the junk"

It was fun Bill. I also got the deer rifles dialed in as well, so now it's time to wash clothes. Lots of washing!

Looks like a great weekend Tom,

Glad somebody else still "tents".

Got about 3" here between Saturday evening & mid afternoon yesterday. Had all but disappeared by nightfall, however, all was white again this morning.

Deb sat in on of our blinds on Saturday. In before dawn, out at 10:30, back in before noon, out again at 2:30 & back in from 4:00 till 7:pm. Quite the hardcore hunter.

Saw 1 doe & got a glimse of a relly big bodied "deer" sliding across the far end of one of the trails, right on last shooting light.

Uuurph.

Paul.

Hot alcoholic Cider - now there's an excellent idea !

Tom, what foreign land was this you were camping in? I know it can't be up by Duluth, as I can see clearly at least 10 feet in any given direction!

Is this that clear cut I hunted, or maybe the one further down the road from where we hunted a couple years ago?
