I'm running low on TAC and am saving what's left for .350RM loads, so I'm looking at RL10x and H4895. The last Barnes manual shows good results with both powders. I've shot the RL10x in 223's in hot weather but don't know much about its temperature stability in cold weather. It made for very consistant and accurate loads in that chambering. The H4895 is part of the "Extreme" line, but I don't have as much on hand. Anybody running either of these powders with 125-130gr stuff? Got a new-to-me Wby Fiberguard I'd like to get ready for deer and hogs.

H4895 is great in my 308 win using 130 gr TTSX. 49-50 gr max. Over 3100 fps with 23" barrel.

I'm using IMR 3031 45gr with Barnes 130 TTSX. Sub MOA at 200 yards with my Sig Sauer AR. I haven't put it through a chronograph. I'm shooting a 16" barrel.

W760 is usually about right for 165's. If you wanted to use a ball powder with 130's you would probably want to step up to W748.

Varget works pretty well for about 3000-3100fps.

8208 is good to. 48ish grains goes 3100 pretty easy in a 22" barrel. TAC get you there too.

If H4895 is on hand, that works too. Gonna crunch to get the velocity wanted. I have no problem with compressed loads, especially with H4895 or Varget.

I've had the best accuracy with H-4895 and Varget with that bullet, with H-4895 giving me the best accuracy. Here's the H-4895 load that gave me cloverleafs at 100 yds. I didn't do any further tweaking because I was in the beginning stages of looking for a reduced recoil load at the time. I also bought a pound of 8208 XBR and looking forward to see how it performs in the .308 and .338 RCM.

Bullet - Barnes 130gr TTSX
Brass - Winchester
Primer - Federal 210
Powder - 48.2gr H4895

Is a mag. primer needed for the faster powders? I've been running a Fed 215M with about 48 grs. of TAC. Don't really know if the mag. primer is helping or not.

I am running 47 gr of H4895. I see higher loads mentioned - my best accuracy didn't happen there. I am running a 20" Remmy mountain rifle. I am using CCI200 primers, but may try a mag primer for fun....

It's not the faster powders, it the BALL powders that need the magnum primers.

For H4895 I'd use CCI 200
For W748 I'd switch to a magnum primer.

I'm using 130 gr TTSX in Win brass, Fed Match primers and 48.7 gr of 8208 (over max load) chronos at 3125 fps in a Sako Mod 75. I seat my bullets out to the 2nd grove, long throat in my Sako. This load is pretty accurate and I like the fact the powder isn't supposed to be temperature sensitive. I did notice a 3 inch higher cold clean barrel shot at 200 yards....

We run 50-52g of Win 748 and use fed 210 primers, bullet jump of .050.

Not unusual to get three shots in the same bullet hole or a clover leaf with no paper inbetween the bullets, this is a hell on wheel load for the 308.

In the 24" barrel, this load is doing 3200 fps with an extreme spread of 11 fps.

I use Big Game with 130's in my 30-06. It's close to H-414/760 and IMR 4007 in burn rate. I use H-4895 in my .308.

Guess it depends on what you have and what you can find.

Lots more folks using this bullet than I'd have expected.

How 'bout some "on game" stories? Has anyone tried 'em on something bigger/tougher than deer?
