I was gifted a new BGE by my friend and member, byc (David)
I ordered a beautiful table for it which should arrive any day now. In the meanwhile,I have probably over-analyzed and have certainly made myself dizzy researching all the accessories, gadgets, grates etc. that are true must haves for the BGE.
I'd appreciate any advice knowledgeable folks could offer this BGE newbie.
I have a large BGE that I wish to customize and make worthy of byc's kindness. I'd like top of the line accessory and must-have advice, please.

Just fire that thing up and use it Bob! A nice and useful accessory is a Digi Q DX 2 as is a large adjustable rig platform

In my exchanges with byc, he's big on most anything from Ceramic Grill Store. I'll second what EH said on the adjustable rig.
I'd also highly recommend a cast iron grate.
Everyone seems to like the DigiQ stuff. I don't have one, but I like to do everything on a gut feeling. I know that seems odd, but just the way I like to do it. I'm sure I'll cave soon.

Thanks again brother. The favors you provided to me and others on this site should not go unrecognized. That BGE is from all grateful fire members and my nephew. I'm going to call you this week. Get ready to spend some money. Also talk to Keith, Mike and Dan. Go Skins! You going to the game?

My paralegal's brother had a heart attack last night so she had to run up to Pittsburgh. I had to ESPN Gamecast from the office.
I like that Ceramic Grill Store site.

Keith by the time we're done with him the revenue justification will be there for a 3rd and 4th yorkie purchase by Karen. Sorry to hear about the illness Bob. Is this akin to any of Becky's people?

No...Becky and George split up, though. So did Warren and his wife.

"Outdoor Home" is also a good BGE and grilling site. Have you guys heard of it or ever checked it out?

One suggestion on eggcessories and a couple of hints I learned the hard way:
1. Buy a pizza stone. Homemade grilled pizzas are the bomb! 2. Buy a high temp gasket - either now or when the standard one gets burned up. 3. Always put the screw hings on the daisy wheel at 6 o'clock as you look down from plan view. Failing to do so could allow it to swing open when you open the grill lid leading to some very high temps very quickly. 4. After lighting the Egg, bring it to temp and let it burn until you get a good clean smoke. This will avoid giving your food a charcoal smoke. (Not sure why they don't tell you that up front. 5. Don't chintz and buy cheap hardwood charcoal. In addition to strange pieces, it will have more small pieces that will decrease aidflow and prevent you reaching higher temps. Even if you use high quality lump, after a bunch of cooks you may have to shovel out the inside of the fire box to remove the build up of small unburned pieces that will hinder your airflow. (Generally, fine if you're smoking. But, not if you're doing a higher temperature cook.

Were it me I would make a short drive out to the Dizzy Pig Store in Manassas for the real deal. The folks in that store know bge's inside and out. Ask if Chris is in. He may also have all the bbq guru products in stock.
Check put their facebook page. The showroom is jammed with stuff.
