Do you ever regret not shooting a deer just so you could test out a caliber? In 07 I had a new rifle, a Ruger 77 SS, in .358 Win. I was having a rough year. My best good friend just died, I lost my job, and I had pneumonia. On the last day of my hunt on the iron range, I had two does come in curious as heck to my coughing spells. One spooked, but the other kept coming back every time I coughed. I had the cross hairs on her a few times, but didn't have the energy to get it done. I still wish I did. Dangit! Now I need another .358 Win. I'd like one too. Too bad the 35 caliber isn't more popular.

I've had a few of em. I just never seem to decide to shoot a deer with one in my hand. I'll have another someday. The areas I hunt here in MN are pretty perfect for one. I can only thing of two spots where I could shoot 200 yards.

gotta pack up tonite, and head out tomorrow night for the hunting grounds. gonna take about 20 guns, and sight them all in. probably check some spots, move a few stands, bow hunt. Im planning on using the 450 this year,or bust.I meant to load up a few different loads, but still have some factory I got from grizzly bill that I should use. Also going to visit Reeds sporting goods,( my mom used to babysit the owner )see whats new. also have the last two packs of venison from last year thawed in the fridge for dinner tonite. And,I have 18 pints of high life at my disposal.

Gimme a price check on sig P938 with walnut grips (black with walnut) Please? Looks like a baby 1911 in 9mm, single stack.
Reeds is one of the biggest Sig dealers in the state.

Well our youth season is over took my youngest girl out Sunday . We were only able to hunt that evening (16 yr olds are busy these days) . A young spike came in down wind dispite the hair gel, lip gloss and make up she took a quartering away shot and missed cleanly But I think she's hooked . She got pretty excited. I'm off work the first week of gun season so we'll try again.

Sorry, I guess I don't. He said Sig is waaaaay behind on production and it may be a while until you get to see one.

Thank you all for the well wishes.I was pretty pumped up to end the dry spell. Now my leg muscles are sore from pulling him out. Kinda reminds me of the first few days of football practice in high school when you were sore all over for a few days. I have a pic on my phone but I don't have pic posting savvy. I could send it by text to someone who knows how to post pictures. Dave, as you know I work part time in a gun shop and SIG is wayyyy behind production. You might want to look at Gunbroker or one of the auction sites to find what you want. Armslist is a good one also.

If you have to take a second shot then you probably shouldn't have taken the first shot.

Dave,
A couple years ago I was looking for a p228 or p229 and Reeds had the best prices of anyone around. They used to match or beat anyones price, not sure if that is still the case.

Stan, you need to borrow or buy a small 4 wheeler. They're great for getting deer out of the woods, where legal.
