Since we're speaking of fast food joints these days, how is this one?

This is another fast growing chain headquartered in Illinois but RAPIDLY spreading all over, particularly out west. They just opened one in town here in Flagstaff. Haven't tried it.........cuz I can't find a parking stall there, LOL.

When I was in St. George last fall, there were two of these within about 1/2 mile on the main drag.

I understand their intent is to compete (successfully) with Subway and Quiznos.

And, FWIW, the founder is Jimmy John Liautaud. He's the BIG SIZED hunter that appears in the trophy hunting magazines and MuleyCrazy and Mossback videos where he whacks big bucks and bulls on Governor's tags in the west.

Anybody tried their sammiches, and how are they and how does it compare to the other chains?

Good fast food, pretty standard fare, but not greasy like fast food burgers.

No better or worse than Subway, really, but they specialize in speed, both in the store and delivery.

On one time-critical project my team was working on, the client ordered in Jimmy John's three days a week for lunch. The message was, "Feel free to go out to lunch if you like: there are lots of great lunch restaurants around. But if you stay at your desk and work through lunch, you can have Jimmy John's for free."

Very few people ended up going out for lunch on those days.

Maybe that's a rigged experiment, but take it for what it's worth. There was a Lebanese restaurant across the street that served truly amazing halal Arabic food (especially amazing because I had an Arab coworker to show me how best to enjoy it), but I frequently chose Jimmy John's even over that place.

Tried it once. Didn't think it was anything special.

If you watch your sodium, avoid JJ.

Otherwise, quick as schitt and reasonably priced. Delicious, whether [bleep] up as a rat, or sober as a bird.

BLT + sprouts all day baby!

If JJ sammiches were here where I live a I'd buy them when ever I could as I would like to support a fellow avid big game hunter rather than some unknown or a treehugging enemy.

Jimmy John Liataud the owner is a big boy but he hunts his ass off and supports most of my ideals in life, more power to him!

I don't know why I'd PAY someone else to make me a sandwich when I've got a wife. Free sandwiches are why I got married.

I'll take Firehouse Subs over JJ every day and twice on Sundays. Their Hook & Ladder sub is good'er than a mow-foe...

I always grab one in St George on my way out to the Parashant. But there is a GREAT breakfast place just N of Sportmans Warehouse that is NOT a chain.
