Larry, his wife Brenda and their two grown children are outstanding folks.
If anyone was to make a summation of who donated more dollars to the NRA, it would without a doubt be the Potterfields.
They hunt, they kill and they are WITH us. That means a lot.
I have known Larry (personally) since the days he ran a small gun shop north of Columbia when I was in college. He is very family oriented, as a matter of fact, when he was first getting the mail order/internet shop off the ground, he would interview not only the one he wanted to hire, but also their wife/husband because he wanted to get a better feel for how they would fit in with his philosophy. If he liked a guy, but didn't feel like the spouse was supportive, or wouldn't fit, they didn't get hired. I was running a small gun shop and was one that he recruited and wanted to hire, but he had reservations about how my wife would fit in, so I didn't pursue it further. His instincts were pretty good, as a couple years later she was an ex! I found a good one and have been happily married for 26 years.
Whatever you think of his business, gunsmithing, or whatever, he is a good guy. I have also done a lot of business with them also over the years, as I have with my friends at Graf's.
